Traditional management theory and training
prepare an individual to assess situations, gather data, analyse
options and model decisions. However, despite having a sound
understanding of the business, its environment and the likely

difficulty communicating a clear decision or implementing
new plans effectively.

depends on a further range of skills that are more difficult
to teach. These include intuition, creativity, self-awareness,
confidence, empathy, communication, and the ability to motivate
