Case outlines

The executive team of a privately owned corporate communications company wanted a facilitated away day to develop plans for a sound management structure in support of the owner/manager. A series of exercises designed to help the team assess its competencies in the context of the owner's vision raised a number of underlying conflicts, which had been inhibiting both personal and corporate performance within the organisation. As a consequence of these issues being recognised and resolved, the business was able to restructure, enjoy renewed growth and develop a constructive succession plan.

A young, ambitious IT consulting company experiencing a period of hyper-growth had a facilitated strategy day to develop plans for controlling and managing its expansion. A programme of creative and visual techniques was designed to encourage the team to think outside their normal frames of reference. When the outputs of these exercises were applied back to the business operations, a number of leadership issues that had been holding the team back were surfaced in a way that allowed the team to address them objectively.

A household name in the financial services sector used a series of facilitated workshops to develop a culture of empowerment throughout the organisation. The workshops were designed to help managers understand what it means to relinquish control, rather than responsibility, and the staff to develop sound decision-making skills.
